Boat Surveying Qualifications and Experience

I trained at the Universities of Plymouth and Portsmouth, and have a Diploma of Marine Surveying for Yachts and Small Craft; one of the world’s top surveying qualifications. I am an Associate Member of the IIMS and an Accredited Member of the YDSA.
I have both theoretical and practical qualifications to support my surveying experience. I have a degree in Chemistry, which included the study of osmosis, and so have specific expertise in this area.
I undertake a regular programme of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) through both the IIMS and the YDSA. As a member of the Cornwall Marine Network have access to a network of other marine professionals and further training opportunities.
I have over 40 years of sailing experience, and have been maintaining and looking after boats for much of this time. This experience, as well as my formal training, ensures that I can offer you a comprehensive survey and service.
I speak good French and reasonable German, which has helped clients who were buying boats abroad, and I am happy to liaise with overseas brokers, agents, yards and vendors to help my clients further.
